YWCA Administrative Appreciation Luncheon
On Wednesday, April 27, 2005 the YWCA will be hosting the Piedmont/Triad
Administrative Assistant Appreciation Luncheon at the Radisson Hotel to
honor Administrative Assistants and their importance within the workplace.
The luncheon will include the recognition of the Administrative Assistant
of the Year award and will feature special guest humorist Jeanne Swanner
Robertson.
Administrative Professionals Week (Day) previously known as Secretaries
Day; it fell on the last Wednesday in April. It was the one day when
bosses honored the people who made them look good all year round. The name
has been changed to Administrative Professionals Day to keep the pace with
changing job titles and the growing responsibilities of today’s
administrative workforce. Throughout the years, Administrative
Professionals Day has become one of the largest workplace observances.
This occasion is celebrated worldwide, bringing together millions of
people for community events, educational seminars, and individual
corporate activities recognizing staff with gifts of appreciation.
The YWCA of High Point is making it easy to give a truly memorable gift
this year – a great lunch with lots of laughter featuring award-winning
humorist, 6’ 2” former Miss North Carolina Jeanne Swanner Robertson.
Jeanne Robertson’s longevity as a humorous speaker has not gone unnoticed
by her peers. She has been awarded every top honor in her profession. They
like her back home too. The North Carolina Press Association named Jeanne
its 2001 North Carolinian of the Year. Not only is Jeanne a brilliant
speaker, but she uses clean reality based humor to give her audience a new
point of view on communication, change and balancing life’s ups and downs.
“Flowers and cards only say thank you for a brief moment, but the words,
laughter, and motivation of this luncheon will be remembered throughout
the year. I encourage everyone to attend and bring a friend to this very
special event.” Tonia Stephenson, High Point Chamber of Commerce VP of
Business Development and YWCA Board Member.
The Administrative Assistant of the Year award is designed to recognize
someone in the community who has exceptional professional accomplishments,
leadership skills, innovation and certain uniqueness about them or the job
they do. If you would like to nominate someone in the Triad, please call
882-4126 or stop by the YWCA on 112 Gatewood Ave in High Point or visit
our website at
www.ywcahp.com. The submission deadline for applications is March 31,
2005 by 5:00p.m. Tickets for the luncheon are $25; nominators are
encouraged to attend this event, with the nominee.
